Before Al Jolson and Neil Diamond starred in “The Jazz Singer,” there was “The Ancient Law,” a 1923 silent film about a traditional rabbi and his son who, after the shul’s Purim spiel, decides to become an actor. This beautiful, recently restored German Jewish cinema classic will be shown with live musical accompaniment by the extraordinary violinist Alicia Svigals and pianist Donald Sosin.

Doors open at 7 p.m.; film begins at 7:30 p.m. Please use only the Nessel Way entrance to access the event.
