The Return – A special film screening evening at the Institute of Contemporary

November 13, 2014 $10.00 - $14.00

Join us for a special screening of The Return at the beautiful Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA) in downtown Boston. The Vilna Shul is proud to be a co-sponsor of the Boston Jewish Film Festival’s screening of this moving story of discovering and sustaining Jewish heritage in modern Poland.

About the Film: Before the Holocaust, Poland’s four million Jews made the country the epicenter of the Jewish world. Among the small percentage of survivors, some grew up Catholic, and their children and grandchildren were unaware of their religious identities. This poignant documentary follows several women in their 20s, as they try to reclaim their cultural and religious Jewishness in a vacuum, with little knowledge of their long-buried heritage.

The next evening, please join us for a special Kabbalat Shabbat with Havurah on the Hill and the film’s director Adam Zucker at 6:30pm at the Vilna Shul. (Free parking available for Havurah on the Hill’s Friday night services.)
