The great task of our generation is to redefine man-made law to acknowledge what women and other genders experience as sexual harm. In the halakhic system, until very recently, androcentric legal authorities have had a monopoly on articulating, adjudicating and expanding law, including defining what constitutes sexual transgression.
But God’s justice should protect all equally. How would halakhah change if women and other genders transformed it to define sexual harm as they experience it and held perpetrators accountable?
