1_1-88

Join us for a family night of learning, eating, and learning about eating. The night begins at 6:00 p.m. with an experiential program for families with children under 12 led by Sarah Wilensky, creator and founder of “jewfood.” At 7.00 p.m., an intergenerational program led by Sara Berman will focus on blintzes, the quintessential Shavuot food.  After a Mincha service, Professor Jonathan Brumberg-Kraus, chair of the religion department at Wheaton College, will speak at 8:30 p.m. on “Meals as Metaphors for the Experience of the Divine in Jewish Tradition.” At 9:45 p.m., following the festival Ma’ariv service, Rick Gordon from Gordon’s Liquors will lead a wine tasting of kosher wine.  Temple Reyim Rabbi Daniel Berman will give a talk at 10:30 p.m. on “Kashrut: An Ancient, Mysterious Legal System, or an Ethical Guide for our Everyday Lives?” And from 11:15 p.m. to midnight, we will enjoy delectable dairy desserts.
