Love traveling with your sweetheart?

Honeymoon Israel (HMI), a nonprofit organization connecting young couples to Jewish life, is now accepting applications until Oct. 4 for its next trips out of Boston. The organization, which uses a highly subsidized group trip to Israel as an entry point to create community locally, plans to send its next Boston cohorts to Israel March 3-13 and May 12-22 of 2022.

HMI serves young couples with at least one Jewish partner by helping them bring Jewish life and understanding into their homes in a personal, meaningful way. Couples travel to Israel for nine days alongside 19 other couples from their city.

During the trip, participants experience Israel’s main attractions like the Western Wall, Jerusalem’s Old City, the beaches of Tel Aviv and visits to sites important to Jewish, Christian and Muslim history. They also partake in uniquely curated activities like meals with local families and meetings with high-level public officials and business leaders.

HMI’s participant base is made up of young couples with diverse cultural, racial, religious, gender and sexual identities.

To be eligible:

  • Couples should be committed and/or married life partners between ages 25-40 (at least one partner must be between 25-40 at the time of the trip, and neither partner over 45 years old).
  • If married, couples must be within their first five years of marriage (or very close to it!).
  • At least one partner must be Jewish. We define that broadly—if you have at least one Jewish parent or grandparent, that counts.
  • At least one partner must have no prior organized Israel trip experience as an adult (i.e. if both partners have been on Birthright, you are ineligible, but if one of you went on a middle or high school trip, you’re good).
  • Couples must live in the Greater Boston area.

Please visit our website for more information on eligibility and details about the experience. Contact us with any questions.

Honeymoon Israel Boston is generously supported by Combined Jewish Philanthropies.
