The rising tide of antisemitism is by no means only a right-wing phenomenon. Two prominent Jewish journalists from different sides of the political spectrum—op-ed columnist Jeff Jacoby of The Boston Globe and opinion editor Laura E. Adkins of the Forward—discuss the various forms of anti-Jewish hostility that are spreading on the left and what makes them so dangerous.

Jeff Jacoby is an award-winning columnist for The Boston Globe. Seeking a conservative voice to balance its famously liberal roster of commentators, the Globe hired him away from the Boston Herald, where he had been the chief editorial writer. Today his columns are distributed by the New York Times Syndicate. In addition to his newspaper column, Jacoby also writes Arguable, a weekly email newsletter. Launched in 2017, Arguable now reaches more than 100,000 subscribers.

Laura E. Adkins is an award-winning writer and editor based in New York. She is opinion editor of the Forward and an adjunct professor of journalism at Yeshiva University. Her writing on antisemitism, Orthodox Judaism, data and gender has appeared in the Los Angeles Review of Books, The Washington Post, Glamour and other outlets. She was previously opinion editor of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, the editor of Jewish Insider and an assistant blogs editor at The Times of Israel.
