Over the last decade, Greece and Israel have established an increasingly close and trusting relationship that has enjoyed growing support from Greek and Jewish Americans. As a result, at the very same time this past January that an AJC delegation comprised of leadership from both communities was meeting with the Greek Prime Minister and cabinet, nearly 300 members of Greater Boston’s Greek and Jewish communities were meeting for a cultural festival under the auspices of AJC and the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Boston. During this same period, AJC was collaborating with the Hellenic American Leadership Council (HALC) (see letter at http://goo.gl/VoIjo sent to members of the Massachusetts congressional delegation) to support the development of the newly founded Congressional Greek Jewish Caucus. This web of relationships is a vital resource in efforts to ensure a stable and peaceful Eastern Mediterranean.
