In addition to Thanksgiving, this week we celebrate Hanukkah, a holiday about the triumph of a small group of Jews against the large Greco-Roman empire. Hanukkah at Valley Forge draws a parallel between that battle and the one that took place during the American Revolution against the British. This beautifully illustrated book, based on some historical evidence, will remind children that Jews have been part of American history from the very beginning.
