I’m proud to be supporting City Councilor Mike Ross in his campaign to become the next Mayor of Boston.
For those of you who live in Boston and are undecided, I hope you will find a couple of hours to get to know Mike. I am confident that if you meet him and learn about his track record and vision, you will become a supporter too.

WHY I’M SUPPORTING MIKE
Mike and I share a progressive vision for the City of Boston.
As a Fenway resident/civic leader for several years, I had the pleasure of collaborating with Mike on a number of initiatives, for instance launching an effort that seeks to put an historic, boarded up, City of Boston building in the Back Bay Fens back into use to revitalize the park and Agassiz Road, which links the East and West Fenway neighborhoods. Mike already helped a similar project become a reality: by the Boston Common tennis courts, a sandwhich shop with outdoor seating now occupies the formerly neglected “Pink Palace.” Mike believes in partnerships and collaboration, and has experience bringing together diverse groups of stakeholders, including residents, advocacy organizations, educational and cultural institutions, and businesses to make things happen.
I admire Mike’s commitment to justice, his belief in innovation and looking beyond Boston to find best practices. He acknowledges that he does not have all the answers and the people of Boston should play a key role in crafting our future. He believes that Boston needs to utilize technology more effectively so we can improve services and increase efficiency, and he has played a key role in getting city services and information to be online and more accessible so people don’t have to go to City Hall during business hours to get everything done.
Mike has also been a leader on environmental issues, advocating several years ago for the City to hire a Bikes Director and filing an ordinance that requires large residential buildings to provide recycling for their residents. As Mayor, Mike will be a strong leader on environmental issues, so the city’s Climate Action Plan does not just sit on a bookshelf and so we can improve our recycling program among residents and expand it to businesses.
I hope you will join me in supporting Mike Ross for Mayor on Tuesday September 24. He has the experience, smarts, dedication, open-mindedness, integrity, and progressive spirit the City of Boston needs to thrive.
