JFS COO Lino Covarrubias, for the past half dozen years, has been instrumental in helping disabled Israeli combat soldiers (“Brothers for Life”) connect with their U.S. peers on an annual visit to the Boston area.

The photo above was taken at Gillette Stadium on June 5, 2019, where a half-day of interaction and activity occurred. It was incredibly moving as personal stories were shared and connections made. This get-together is a highlight to the trip for the Brothers for Life contingent.

The Kraft family rolled out the red carpet, with VIP treatment and special tours for these extraordinary men. I got to stand in for Lino during this event as he is on vacation. Robert and Dan Kraft, Neil Wallack and I are among those in the group picture.

Leaders from “Home Base,” the local veteran and family care organization, were among those who participated. JFS board member Ezra Levine and family have been host for two of the Brothers for Life members for their week-long visit to Boston. Barbara and Ed Shapiro also hosted the entire delegation at the beginning of their trip.
