Rimma ZelfandOver the past five years, I have had the pleasure of attending the Metropolitan Opera’s “Live in HD” series, where a live opera is broadcast from New York to more than 1,900 cinemas in 64 countries. Rather than spend $300 on a ticket for a live performance, I can see the same performance at my local cinema – for just $18.

The Met has found an innovative way to offer opera to the masses. At JF&CS, we strive to think creatively about how to reach more clients. And we’re seeing results.

  • Jewish Family Service of Worcester is now part of JF&CS. Through this partnership, JF&CS will serve more communities with our high-quality programs.
  • We are also serving new populations through Project NESST. Building on more than 20 years of experience in perinatal work, home visiting, and parent-child mental health, this new program offers support for substance-exposed newborns and their families.
  • Nutrition Services is using volunteers to reach more people in our community through workshops, cooking demonstrations, recipe dissemination, and translation.
  • Through Pathways to Employment, we are enabling more adults with disabilities to achieve self-sufficiency. Our “soft” skills training program prepares participants to find and keep a job.
