Jeffrey Woolf with Sara HefezSix months into his term as President of the Boston Board of Directors, Jeffrey Woolf is making major strides in his goal of educating the wider community about the great work of Jewish National Fund (JNF). Jeffrey’s appointment came at a critical time, as JNF’s lay leadership and professional team are diligently implementing the $1 Billion Road Map for the Next Decade campaign. Jeffrey is already instrumental in helping JNF connect Boston to the people and land of Israel, and executing unique projects to strengthen Israel for the long-term.

“Being a President within JNF’s community is really exciting,” says Jeffrey, who has been involved with the organization in a leadership role for over five years. “JNF truly empowers its donors and board members in a very unique way. We get to personally facilitate economic growth and development, preservation of natural resources, and exporting technology and good will. The crucial work we do must be shared with our community and beyond.”

Jeffrey became involved in JNF by invitation of a past Boston President, Robert Cohan.

While all of JNF’s work is important, Jeffrey is most passionate about the work done with disabilities and special needs. As part of its focus on improving quality of life in Israel, JNF is dedicated to ensuring that no member of Israeli society is left behind. Through a variety of initiatives, JNF provides cutting-edge rehabilitative services, special education, and medical care for people with special needs and makes its forests, parks, picnic areas, playgrounds, nature trails, lookouts and recreational facilities accessible and inclusive for visitors of all ability levels.

JNF New England & the Capital District Director Sara Hefez praises Jeffrey’s passion and commitment. “We are so excited to work with Jeffrey, sharing JNF’s vision and our important work.  We are looking forward to accomplishing great things together for the land and people of Israel!”

An attorney, Jeffrey spent many years in private practice handling civil litigation and has served more recently as assistant general counsel for the Board of Bar Overseers. Since 2012, he has been an adjunct professor at Boston University Law School, where he obtained his JD. He is also member of the law school’s Deans Advisory Board.  He previously taught at New England School of Law and at Northeastern University.

Jeffrey is on the Yerucham Task Force, a leading member of Lawyers for Israel, and has been one of Boston’s Breakfast Co-Chairs for the past two years. Jeffrey and his wife, Mary, are members of JNF’s Century Council and President’s Society. Mary is also a proud Sapphire Society member. Jeffrey and Mary have gone on several Presidents Society Missions.

Jeffrey and Mary live in Winchester. They have two adult children, a son and daughter, who both attend Boston University.
