JFS of Metrowest Receives Grant from the Tufts Health Plan Foundation
to Support New Work Force Development Initiative
Framingham, MA – July 1, 2015 – Jewish Family Service of Metrowest (JFS) today announced that Tufts Health Plan Foundation has awarded JFS, in partnership with the Employment & Training Resource Center, a new two year Work Force Development grant, Ready for Success: A Mid-Late Career Re-entry Program. This funding will support the ‘back-to-work’ efforts of older mid-late career seekers, especially immigrants and minority workers who wish to return to work or secure a job better suited to their skills, income needs and interests. Ready for Success will address work readiness, job searches, resumes and skills training options as well as other barrier to employment and financial stability.
“Employment & Training Resources, a Massachusetts One Stop Career Center, is excited to have the opportunity to partner with Jewish Family Service to assist with job search assistance and job referral to a segment of our population that sometimes is overlooked, our older workers, with a focus on the older immigrant/minority population," said Ellie Rose, Executive Director, Massachusetts One – Stop Career Centers. "ETR has had many years of experience successfully working with this population with excellent results. We are confident that this partnership will help provide the skills necessary for a positive re-entry back in to the workforce.”

And the struggles are even more difficult for late career immigrants who have limited opportunities or access. JFS is enormously excited to have the opportunity to integrate its deep skills in working with both immigrants and elders in this new initiative.”
