Recently, volunteers with the JFS Patient Navigator program gathered for an annual appreciation barbecue and celebration of a 10-year Sustaining Grant awarded by the Cummings Foundation.

Navigators in attendance included those who began as part of the initial pilot program in 2012, Navigators who have been recently recruited and will be training later this month, as well as many who have been part of the program for several years.

Also in attendance was Patient Navigator volunteer Jane Joiner, who was honored with the JFS Roll Up Your Sleeves volunteer award at this year’s JFS Annual Meeting.

In addition to informal conversations, the Patient Navigator staff shared information regarding the expansion of the program to the LGBTQ+ community.

It was a great time where many stories were shared, delicious food was enjoyed and friendships young and old were strengthened!

Thank you to all who attended for making this year’s event a great time for all.
