At the meeting he explained the impact on the majority of the Jews now living in Israel. Sarna reflected, “The future of the Jewish Community depends on those with the fortitude to shape the future and develop a mission to impassion Jews all over.”  “It was such an honor to have my former classmate share his enlightenment with the Board,” expressed Senior Campaign Executive Deborah Budd. The meeting was sponsored by President Emeritus Ronald Lubin and hosted by Jim Lerner of Goulston & Storrs.

Dr. Jonathan D. Sarna is the Joseph H, Belle R. Braun Professor of American Jewish History at Brandeis University and Chief Historian of the new National Museum of American Jewish History. Dubbed by the Forward newspaper as one of America’s 50 most influential Jews (2004), he is recognized as a leading commentator on American Jewish history, religion and life.  In 2009, he was elected to the American Academy of Arts & Sciences.
