You already know that Israel is the Start-Up Nation, but did you know that Israel is also the stand-up nation? Israel is often the first country to respond to humanitarian crises and has been coordinating relief efforts throughout the world for decades. From renewable energy to information science, Israeli technology, know-how, and innovations are improving, enriching, and saving lives.

Project Inspire is a partnership between CJP’s Strategic Israel Engagement initiative and the Consulate General of Israel to New England. This new program offers an opportunity for young adults to witness Israel’s global innovation and grassroots impact up close.

We believe that inspired individuals can be catalysts for meaningful change in the world. Together, we will explore how ingenuity and entrepreneurship can combat poverty, tackle injustice, and build a safer and more just world.

How will we inspire you?

This week-long powerful journey offers a deep dive into Israel’s commitment to global responsibility, the humanitarian challenges it’s determined to solve, and the best practices being employed in international development. The experience is enriched through conversations with the community of peers traveling with you and meetings with change-makers who are both improving and saving lives.

Join our pilot trip to Nairobi, Kenya.

The program is open to Jewish young adults from the Greater Boston area between the ages of 25-40 with strong leadership skills. Twelve applicants will be interviewed and selected for our pilot trip to Nairobi, Kenya, from Feb. 18-26, 2018.

We’re looking for ambitious and hard-working change-makers who want to have a meaningful impact in Boston and abroad. Applicants must be willing to assume a high level of responsibility as members of a team.

Jewish young adults may apply for Project Inspire regardless of background, education, or degree of affiliation. All organized programming taking place on Shabbat will be appropriate for observant participants.

The trip will include visits to local schools, NGOs, and communities utilizing Israeli technology, as well as the local synagogue in Nairobi. See a sample itinerary.

Be inspired. Inspire others.

After the trip, participants will be required to lead an independent community education project (e.g., writing an article, giving a community talk, creating a video for social media) and assist with a group education project.

Sounds great. How much is it?

This is a highly subsidized program. Participants will be required to contribute $600 toward the trip. Additionally, participants are responsible for obtaining their own tourist visa for Kenya, vaccinations, transportation to and from the airport in Boston, and all other incidental expenses. Applicants must carry their own medical insurance.

All program participants will be required to sign a program waiver, and submit medical information, a copy of their passport valid for at least six months, and emergency contact information.
