The chaplain of the City of Boston serves the Mayor’s Office, City Council, Boston Police Department, Boston Fire Department, other city agencies, employees and the community at large. The chaplain officiates at memorial services, promotions and ceremonies, provides advice and counsel to members of the police and fire departments and other city employees, and is available to the general Boston community to address questions and concerns.

 

The current chaplain, appointed by Mayor Kevin White in 1975, is Grand Rabbi Y. A. Korff, Zvhil-Mezbuz Rebbe.
