Several educational opportunities are available at Temple Emunah in Lexington, from conducting various elements of the religious services to studying the Talmud. Most courses meet evenings or Sunday mornings. In addition, a two-year adult B’nei Mitzvah program will begin in spring of 2012, and Me’ah, a 100-hour course providing the foundation for adult Jewish learning will begin its next two year cycle in September. * Leading the Torah Service for beginners on 4 consecutive Sundays beginning January 22, from 11:15 to noon. Where did the Torah service originate? What are we singing about? Why do we parade around with the Torah?
* Learn to lead the Davening of Shabbat morning Shacharit, from Pesukei D’Zimra through the Amidah on 4 consecituve Sunday mornings at 11:15am beginning March 4.
* Talmud study group with Dr. I. Ely Stillman resumes Wed evenings from 8 – 9:30 PM starting 2/1. The study group is free and walk-ins are welcome.
Me’ah—‘One Hundred’—is an adult learning program of Hebrew College and the Commission on Jewish Continuity, made possible with funding from the Combined Jewish Philanthropies. This intensive two-year program provides a foundation for adult Jewish learning. The Lexington Collaborative Me’ah of Lexington’s Temple Isaiah and Temple Emunah, will start enrollment for Me’ah class of 2012-2014 in fall, 2012.
