Jewish students who are currently sophomores or juniors in high school and who live in communities served by CJP are invited to apply to Lappin Foundation’s 2023 Youth to Israel Adventure (Y2I). Y2I is all about friends, fun and the adventure of a lifetime in Israel!
“This trip had a major effect on my Jewish identity and made me realize how wonderful Judaism is,” wrote Jeremy Barry in his post-trip reflection when asked how the Y2I experience impacted him.
Y2I significantly expands teens’ network of peers, giving them opportunities to meet Jewish teens from Greater Boston they would otherwise not meet. 2022 Y2I included 81 teens from 31 communities and 44 high schools, and we expect similar enrollment for 2023 Y2I.
In addition to interactive pre-trip meetings that focus on group bonding and building Jewish identity, Y2I includes a fully-subsidized 12-day teen trip to Israel that will take place from July 2-14, 2023. The itinerary is packed with amazing things to see and do every day, from exploring ancient sites, like the Western Wall and the City of David in Jerusalem, to rafting on the Jordan River, to an overnight in the desert at a Bedouin campground.
For Kayla Bello of Beverly, Y2I was truly unique. “I met so many amazing people and got to experience the Jewish culture and religion in so many unique ways,” she wrote.
