No surprise – there’s been a tidal wave of statements, op-eds, media interviews, talking point memos, and other commentary regarding this morning’s announcement of an Iran Nuclear Deal. We can’t begin to read it all, let alone share it here, but, in addition to JCRC’s statement earlier today, we’ve rounded up some select materials below, including: All statements from our member agencies, as well as one from Prime Minister Netanyahu; Talking points from the White House; Every statement we’ve seen from the MA Congressional delegation, and; A very small number of the many articles we’ve read today. I encourage you to peruse it all.
In the coming days we’ll be consulting with a range of folks including our national partners as we determine a course of action for JCRC engagement during the Congressional review process. Keeping in mind all the work we’ve done together over the past few years, that most of our national members are still analyzing the deal, and the conversations we’ve had at Council meetings… we’ll be weighing whether to take specific positions for or against the deal as a whole, or particular pieces of it. Certainly we’ll be working to frame public discussion on it here in Boston, and will be urging our congressional delegation to use their review period wisely to consider and weigh all of the components and their implications.
And of course I’d be remiss to not plug our social media and encourage you to follow on twitter @BostonJCRC and @BurtonJM for way more materials on a day to day basis.
