After our tour of Jerusalem, the ConnecTech group went to visit Better Place, a company that develops technology to enable easier and more economic usage of electric cars. After a very informative video and Q&A session, we were taken to test drive some of the cars they sell. The experience was very different from driving gasoline powered cars. The electric cars ran very smoothly and make barely any noise. The electric cars can run about 160 km on a single charge, and it takes about 6 hours to recharge them. Taking all costs into account, Better Place customers save around 25% off the regular costs of gasoline-powered vehicles.Better Place and Tel Aviv

After visiting better place , we continued on our way to the White city: Tel Aviv.  We dropped our luggage in the hostel and went for a long and beautiful walk through the port of Jaffa and the Tel Aviv boardwalk. On our way we could appreciate the spectacular skyline of Tel Aviv contrasted with the powerful street art near the beach. In addition, we caught a glimpse of one of the most stunning sunsets of the Mediterranean Sea.

Eventually, we made our way to the center of Tel Aviv. Young people were talking over the night scene and enjoying dinner in small restaurants. We quickly took their example and got dinner at a vegetarian place, followed by ice cream at a nearby store.

After this delicious treat, we rented bikes and rode along the bike path at the beach.

As you’re reading this, you may ask yourself ‘Why go all the way from one end of the Tel Aviv to the other?’. The answer is simple: chocolate, of course. And not just any chocolate, but kosher Max Brenner’s, the finest chocolate in Israel. This delightful stop concluded our night out on the town.
