Burning Bush Adventures (BBA), since 1999, has been offering guided canoe and dogsled trips in New England and upstate New York infused with Judaism. We offer private parent/child, bar/bat mitzvah, school and congregational trips, as well as trips with open enrollment where part of the adventure is meeting new people. Our trips are all led or co-led by Rabbi Howard A Cohen. Before entering rabbinical school Howard was already an experienced wilderness guide and group leader. He worked for five different Outward Bound schools on two continents and privately participated in many canoeing and mountaineering expeditions throughout the United States and Canada. BBA offers trips from one day to many days.

The dog sled trips take place in Western Maine.  We mush or cross country ski out to a Yukon style winter camp.  This means big wall tents heated with woodstoves and spruce bough floors.  Between experiencing the winter wonderland, good food and company you will also experience insightful Torah study and inspiring davenning.  (Imagine davenning with John Muir and the Baal Shem Tov and you’ll have an idea of what we mean by inspiring.)  No one is ever cold or disappointed on one of these trips!!
