We are proud to say that Prozdor is outstanding for many reasons.
We celebrate our excellence in Hebrew language instruction, post pictures from our trips and Shabbatonim, record our Klezmer band as it performs around town, and praise our dynamic faculty at every opportunity.
But perhaps the most impressive example of something that is really clicking for us is Israel.
It is impossible to say that at Prozdor we teach kids to love Israel. That would be impossible, and dishonest. Can you teach someone to love someone else, or something? Of course not.
What we can do is provide an environment in which students build strong connections to Israel and its people. And the numbers show us that we are doing exactly that.
Through our Israel-focused core curriculum, our amazing pilot partnership with the Reali School in Haifa, and our elective offerings on Israel-related topics, Israel is front and center on our students’ minds.
How do we know?
Consider just these four figures:
75% of Prozdor students will have traveled to Israel by the time they graduate from Prozdor
10% of Prozdor graduates over the past three years have chosen to take a gap year in Israel before college
35% of Prozdor students will have taken a class in Israel advocacy by the time they graduate
90% of Prozdor graduates this year will have taken at least six semester-long classes on Israel
As we envision, and re-envision, the future of Prozdor, one thing is for certain. Israel will remain at the center of our work with teens.
They wouldn’t want it any other way.
