Jewish National Fund New England Board member Martin Kofman hosted Green Horizons Youth Movement group leader Neta Amitai of Israel.  Neta inspired hundreds of youths at area schools and synagogues to make a difference through volunteerism and leadership.  “I was utterly amazed by 19 –year old Neta’s level of maturity, insight and leadership qualities.  I would have been comfortable having my own son led on hikes through the Israeli wilderness under her guidance.”

The Green Horizons Youth Movement has offered programming to 20,000 Israeli children and teens over the past 30 years.  Participants learn about Israel’s history, geography and culture through special activities.

JNF has recently expanded programming through the generosity of donors to reach disadvantaged communities, at-risk and emotionally and mentally challenged children to participate in this very needed and successful program, which focuses on social participation, tolerance and personal responsibility through nature activities.
