To meet the needs of our friends and neighbors increasingly vulnerable to financial insecurity, especially in the Metrowest community, Jewish Family Service (JFS) of Metrowest is creating an accessible, dignified, welcoming, free “clothing closet” to offer the basic need of clothing so that they can better focus on handling other stressors in their lives.
The Clothing Closet will primarily provide a pop-up service that will bring clothes to where clients are, to destination partner organizations from senior homes to schools, in addition to a boutique “clothing closet” onsite.
During the initial phase of this pilot program, the pop-up events will be scheduled at locations within the JFS service area. To meet the needs of the individuals attending each event, the organizing committee will maintain a list of desired items for those interested in donating.
The first pop-up will be in July at the Wilson Elementary School in Framingham, a school with many vulnerable immigrant families, so the first priority is clothing for school aged children. We are also collecting clothing for specific Wilson School families in great need.
Here is a list of items these families need:

Any clean clothing in good condition that you can donate will be incredibly helpful to these people in need.
