I’d like to extend a warm invitation to everyone to join us at Congregation Eitz Chayim, 136 Magazine Street, in Cambridge, MA, on Friday, August 13, for a special LGBTQ – friendly Kabbalat Shabbat service at 7:00 pm followed by a fabulous oneg at 8:00pm. After the oneg we will have a chance to sit together over a potluck dinner (vegetarian dairy).

created at: 2010-08-09Eitz Chayim is an egalitarian, non-denominational synagogue whose members come from a wide range of religious, ethnic, class and cultural backgrounds. The service will be lay-led and participatory.

Children are welcome.  We like to hear them singing throughout the service.   We know it’s a bit late for the parents, but we think it’s never too late for babies!

It is our intent to increase EC outreach to the Jewish GLBTQ community, as well as to have a community potluck for our own Shabbat enjoyment.   Please come and bring your friends!  We hope that as many as are able will arrive with something yummy and veggie/dairy.  A bottle of wine or two would be nice also.  But if you are coming directly from work or for some reason can’t bring food, just bring yourself.

Parashat hashavua is Shoftim and the lay leaders have a great teaching planned (short but sweet)!

Please RSVP with what you will bring and/or send any questions to me –  ritual at eitz dot org.
