One of my favorite moments in Jewish life actually comes at the end of Shabbat. There is nothing that quite compares to Havdala. Even in a modern temple it still has a feeling of being outside at a campfire. No matter how old the participants, I feel like a kid.

It’s the one celebration in which all of my children participate without cajoling. They know the songs and they love singing them.

This past week Temple Reyim held a Shabbatune, a Shabbat celebration filled with music and dancing. Rabbi Shalva has his Top 10 favorite moments on his blog, but mine was Havdala.

I captured a bit on video (with a few still shots taken by my 8-year-old son). Enjoy.
