Tutor 3-5th graders: The All Stars Program supports third and fourth graders — many of whom are English Language Learners (their native language is Portuguese) – -in English, math, homework and enrichment activities.
Female volunteers are needed for the Wizards Program, a math, science & engineering based after-school program for fifth-grade girls in Framingham.
Accompany seniors to their medical appointments *New program! If you are looking for a unique and rewarding volunteer activity, possess good listening and communication skills and are comfortable navigating the medical system, then JFS Patient Navigators program is for you.
Patient Navigators support older adults and their caregivers in many ways. Patient Navigators accompany seniors to their medical appointments, facilitate communication with health care providers, listen carefully, take notes during a visit, and ensure that follow-up care is addressed as needed. JFS offers a comprehensive training program that will give you all the preparation you need.
Visit an isolated elder: Visit an elderly or disabled person! Provide transportation or help with errands, or just chat. You can visit as an individual or as a family.
Share your skills with a family in need: Many of the clients in our Family Assistance Program are in need of some help that does not require money but time. Some very common examples are help with some small repairs to a home or help with money management and budget planning. Maybe you have a skill that one of our clients could use to help them get back on their feet.
Improve the health and well being of elders: Healthy Partners delivers a primary prevention approach to health and well-being. Volunteer to lead exercise classes, arts and crafts, music groups or help with data collection. Share your special interests with the group.
Annual Campaign and Seas the Dream: Work with a group of volunteers on a variety of tasks for Annual Campaign, Seas the Dream Annual Gala and other fund raising activities.
Assist the JFS of Metrowest office: Help us with the nuts and bolts of running the agency!
