created at: 2011-01-24JCHE’s Shillman House is opening this June. Now is the time to apply for this beautiful, mixed-income senior living community located in Framingham. Applications for the 90 subsidized units are due February 10 and the selection lottery will be held on February 28. JCHE is also accepting deposits now for priority reservations for the 60 market rent apartments. Depositors will begin to select their units early February.

The Metrowest Daily News provides more information in an article and video released over the weekend:

“The granite countertops, wall-to-wall carpeting and maple cabinets are installed in each apartment. Downstairs, the dining hall, fitness studio and fireside bistro are taking shape.

After 14 months of construction, a massive senior housing complex on Edmands Road that neighbors unsuccessfully fought to stop is nearly complete.

Planning for a June opening, Jewish Community Housing for the Elderly is set to start filling the 150 apartments at the Shillman House, a $42 million four-story independent living complex.

Brighton-based JCHE early next month will start locking in tenants for the 60 market-rate apartments.

The 90 remaining affordable units will be filled by a lottery on Feb. 28. Applications for those deed-restricted units are due Feb. 10, and preference will be given to people who live or work in Framingham.”
