Purim is one of six Jewish holidays that receives special attention at JCHE.  Through a grant from CJP, Marjorie Sokoll, who directs Jewish Life at JF&CS, shares her gifts of song and knowledge at each of these holiday seasons.  For the participants, many of whom are from the former Soviet Union where Purim was rarely acknowledged, this is a wonderful opportunity to hear the Purim story, look at masks worn by children, shake noisemakers and sing songs.  And, of course, it wouldn’t be a complete Purim celebration without delicious hamentashen!
