created at: 2010-03-05Rachel Glanz, Samantha Levin, Rachel Neckes, Lily Sherman, and Emily Waife recently returned from a 12 day trip to Dnepropetrovsk, in the Ukraine. The girls were part of a group of 14 teens from Boston who met up in Kiev with similar-sized groups from Dnepropetrovsk and Haifa. Together the high-schoolers were able to learn about each other’s cultures while volunteering in running a winter break camp for Jewish school-aged children. The group also visited historical sites, including Babi-yar and Golda Meir’s house, shared meals at host family homes and attended Shabbat services at the orthodox synagogue.
