A new, on-line arts magazine has just published a fascinating panel review/discussion of the Boston Jewish Music Festival’s Divine Sparks Concert. The article raises many important questions. How important is understanding lyrics add to the potential spirituality of music? Can religious music maintain it’s spirituality in a concert hall? Why hasn’t “Jewish music” made more recognizable inroads into mainstream culture?

I just finished reading it and while I hope to articulate my responses on their site, I wanted to share the discussion with you first.
