Over 50 parents have already signed up for Parenting Through a Jewish Lens at locations throughout Greater Boston. The program is designed for parents from all backgrounds – here one couple shares their unique experience.

Despite the fact that neither of us is Jewish, my husband and I participated in Parenting Through a Jewish Lens (Ikkarim) because we liked the topics addressed by the curriculum and wanted to have a forum to discuss these with other parents.

The experience was outstanding.

We enjoyed learning what the profound Jewish tradition brings to some of the most important questions that we face as parents.  We enjoyed puzzling over texts with other people who are facing the same questions. The atmosphere in the group made open and honest discussion possible; and we learned so much from the experiences of others.

The best part was that the two of us now have a common reservoir of concepts, texts, and conversations to draw upon as we move forward — not to mention the friends we have made in the group.  Most every week, we found ourselves putting something we had learned into practice.

We’re so grateful for this experience.
