Welcome to Summer Cycle 2018! ReachOut! volunteers continue to provide meaningful service throughout Greater Boston, while meeting other young adults who are passionate about volunteerism. This summer we are offering three different ways to volunteer: weekly volunteering, drop-in opportunities and one-off events.

1. Weekly volunteering
Participants sign up to volunteer at one site on a weekly basis throughout our summer cycle. Get to know your fellow volunteers and the clients at your site! As one site put it, “The residents truly love their Monday evenings and are quite fond of the amazing volunteers.” (The feeling is definitely mutual!)

2. Drop-in opportunities
Traveling this summer? Don’t worry, you can still volunteer with ReachOut! This cycle we are offering a new drop-in volunteer option to allow you to have a bit more flexibility with your volunteering. There will be drop-in volunteer spots saved at three of our sites throughout the cycle. Advanced registration is required. Sign up for as many as you like, but please note that these spots will fill up on a first-come, first-served basis.

3. One-off events
Looking for more ways to volunteer? We have three one-off volunteer events to clean up the Emerald Necklace Conservatory and the Charles River.

ReachOut! puts the “social” in “social justice” with opportunities to connect with fellow volunteers! Each of our cycles always includes at least one Shabbat dinner and a social. This year we’re going to take advantage of the nice weather with Shakespeare in the Park. Not your thing? After volunteering each week most of our volunteers will go out for dinner and/or drinks too.

If you would like more information on ReachOut!, contact Shoshana Edelson, young adult social justice coordinator.
