JFS of Metrowest is proud to announce our new Programs Specialist for Communal Services and Healthy Aging, Nancy Fried-Tanzer. As Programs Specialist, Fried-Tanzer will be responsible for the Kesher, a program that connects Jewish elders living at local independent living and nursing homes to the Jewish community and Kesher 13, an award winning intergenerational program that brings together pre-bar mitzvah, youth, their parents and elders. She will also be a member of the Healthy Aging team.

Fried-Tanzer holds a masters degree in education and comes to JFS with a background as a Jewish Family Educator, having spent many years providing Jewish cultural programs to area synagogues and organizations. She  was a music specialist at the Judy Gordon Nursery School at Temple Israel in Natick for seven years. She has served as the Executive Vice-President and VP of Religion and Education at Temple Israel and is a member of their Passport to Israel committee.

A certified Chinese Yoga instructor, Fried-Tanzer looks forward to working with elders and all members of the community on health education and healthy living. “I describe JFS as Jewish values in motion–being responsible for our community and impacting people’s lives in very meaningful ways.”

She will remain the Kesher13 liaison for Temple Israel, a position she has held for the past three years, and she continues her work at Temple Beth Torah in Holliston as the leader of a Rosh Hodesh group for girls. We welcome her to the JFS family and look forward to all the great work she will do.
