Next week, Boston will welcome a special delegation of 10 young leaders from Haifa—professionals, students, activists, and community builders who are coming to take part in a meaningful journey of connection, learning, and shared identity.
Over the course of their visit, the young leaders will explore what Jewish life looks like in Boston: its strengths, challenges, and resilience, especially in the wake of Oct. 7. They will meet with local organizations, engage in dialogue with peers, and learn how Boston’s Jewish community sustains vibrant Jewish life in times of uncertainty.
A New Generation of Change-Makers
For many in the group, this will be their first opportunity to experience the American Jewish community firsthand. While each delegate carries a different story, they are united by the same desire to connect. Among them are:
- Entrepreneurs who see business as a tool for unity
- Educators who reshaped their careers to empower children
- Activists developing new leadership models in the Druze community
- Storytellers using media to bridge divides
- Psychology and mental health professionals focused on culturally responsive care
- Students in fields such as occupational therapy and data science who bring curiosity, innovation, and a strong sense of civic responsibility
Together, they form a mosaic of voices committed to shaping a more resilient and inclusive society.
Building Bridges Through Shared Purpose
“You can fall a hundred times, but you also rise a hundred times,” says Avital Shaulov, manager of leadership development in CJP’s Haifa-Boston Connection. “In times that test us, we hold on to connection, unity, and resilience. This delegation is about more than a visit, it’s about building bridges of trust and friendship, about young leaders learning from one another and discovering how much stronger we are when we stand together. We are excited not only for the conversations that will happen in Boston, but for the relationships that will continue to grow long after the visit ends.”
At the heart of this journey is the belief that relationships matter. The program emphasizes nurturing personal and professional connections and building a young leadership network that links Haifa and Boston for the long term. The delegates hope to return home with ideas, partnerships, and friendships that will last well beyond this visit.
A Legacy of Connection, A Future of Leadership
This initiative is part of CJP’s Boston-Haifa Connection, which for nearly four decades has brought together people from both cities to learn from one another, support each other, and strengthen Jewish peoplehood. As these young leaders set out on their journey, they carry with them a vision of a stronger, more connected future for both communities.
