The “Better Together” program, a popular collaboration between Harriett and Ralph Kaplan Estates Assisted Living residents in Peabody and students from Temple Beth Shalom in Melrose, embarked upon its fourth year together. The seniors at the Peabody assisted living and the temple’s middle school students enjoy monthly activities, lively discussions and holiday celebrations on Sunday mornings.

A prime example is the recent Hanukkah party. It was a big hit with the residents and the kids.Attendees sampled delicious treats, sang a medley of holiday songs and participated in creative art projects.

Rabbi Jessica Lowenthal, teacher Harriet Wallen from Temple Beth Shalom, and Ellen Gordon from Chelsea Jewish Lifecare, coordinate the program.
