Combined Jewish Philanthropies, the Ruderman Family Foundation and Jewish Vocational Service are working in partnership to provide the Transitions to Work Program. Transitions is an employer based program that focuses on creating new employment opportunities for young adults with a disability. The program provides classroom instruction and skills training to prepare students for work and assists them in obtaining employment upon completion of the program. Transitions to Work serves Jewish individuals with a disability between the ages of 18 to 35 who have completed high school, can travel independently and can work up to 20 hours per week.
The Transitions to Work Program is excited to announce an upcoming training session beginning April 2013:
Transitions will offer a training program in the areas of Transport, Escort/Messenger, Housekeeping and Customer Service at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in the Longwood Medical area in Boston. Students will gain hands-on work experience and training that is relevant to real jobs.
The training will take place at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. All classes are run by JVS instructors.
