JFS of Metrowest is proud to partner with Daniel’s Table on a new program called Womb to 5.

Womb to 5 is a long-term initiative that will combine nutrition and social service interventions to ensure proper nutrition will be available to expectant mothers, newborns and their growing families.

Daniel’s Table is a proud recipient of a $100,000 Cummings Foundation grant, which in combination with a grant from the Yawkey Foundation and donations from hundreds of Metrowest residents, will support Daniel’s Table and JFS in launching this new initiative.

By committing to providing assistance during the first five years of the life of a child, and including the whole family, it opens the door to provide fresh vegetables, fruits, high-quality protein and grains that will help promote healthy child growth and mental development. Selected families will also receive nutritional counseling, free cooking classes, group-led support and a personalized food-ordering website that will encourage access to healthier food alternatives.

JFS and Daniel’s Table strongly believe this innovative approach will help our community’s most vulnerable expectant mothers thrive and their children, when entering kindergarten, will be healthy and ready to learn.

Thank you to the Cummings Foundation and to all others for your support. This initiative will help impact a generation of our children and, in turn, the Framingham community for years to come!
