7th Annual Nation of Immigrants Community Seder

March 23, 2014

For many years, the Anti-Defamation League inNew Englandcelebrated Seders with the African-American and Catholic communities. In 2007, we expanded the Seder to encompass the myriad immigrant and ethnic groups that make up our great nation. Immigration, implicating civil rights issues and issues of discrimination, is a key priority for ADL. The Seder is one of many steps that ADL is taking to establish alliances with other immigrant and ethnic communities, to create allies in combating bigotry, discrimination, and hate crime. We believe that the story of the Jews’ liberation from slavery inEgypt-a story of suffering, liberation, and redemption- is a story applicable to all immigrant and ethnic groups. As a result, our “A Nation of Immigrants” Community Seder will include not only the story of the Jewish people, but will also celebrate diverse stories and cultures of the immigrant and ethnic communities that make up our nation.
