Yad Vashem, Israel’s Holocaust Memorial Center, designated Fr. Jakob Raile, S.J. as “Righteous Among the Nations” for having risked his life while saving hundreds of Hungarian Jews. Fr. Raile is one of very few Righteous buried on American soil. His grave is in the Jesuit cemetery at Weston, MA.
