Open your heart, lift your voice and move your feet with Nava Tehila — a contemporary Israeli musical ensemble performing at Congregation Beth El. The ensemble is an off-shoot of the Nava Tehila Congregation in Jerusalem, one of the Jewish world’s most innovative musical prayer communities. The group has gained an international reputation for its uplifting music and original melodies that are being sung in synagogues across Israel and around the globe.

The music of Nava Tehila, Hebrew for “beautiful praise,” encourages inspiration, elation and deep inner reflection on the importance of prayer and of sensing the Divine connection everywhere. Rooted in Middle Eastern, Hasidic, Israeli, and other world music traditions, their performances are participatory with the audience encouraged to sing along — with the goal of helping the spirit soar.

This special Havdallah Rinah Concert is being hosted by Congregation Beth El, a progressive, egalitarian community where people of diverse backgrounds pursue and share the fulfillment and joy of an active Jewish life. Known for being a “singing” congregation, where monthly Shabbat Rinah (Shabbat of Joy) services regularly attract 120-150 vocal participants, Beth El offers a melodious and spiritual prayer experience to all who attend. The Nava Tehila Havdallah Concert will open with a short and spirited service at 8 pm, followed by a full performance of lively and inspiring music.
