BIG Pub Tour #8: The Burren

January 20, 2016

The BIG Pub Tour is back, for the first time this year! As any self-aware person or group might do when the calendar rolls over, we’ve taken it upon ourselves to shake things up a bit. The Pub Tour is going to be once a month from here on out. And since so many of you have said it would be nice to have these things earlier, we’re going to try starting at 7PM.

The first location for our freshly buffed and polished BIG Pub Tour: The Burren, in Davis Square. Davis is probably best known for its assortment of not-too-pretentious bars, restaurants ranging from drunk-worthy to ethnic to hipster-haven, and a nearly complete lack of street signs in places where you need them most. The Burren has two main rooms: the front room with the bar, and the back room with (usually) live music. This Wednesday we’ll be in the front room (no cover to get in), but feel free to pony up $20 and see the show in the back room, which may very well be of interest to a Jewish crowd: Klezmer Conservatory Band founder Hankus Netsky and violinist Eden MacAdam-Somer (for more information and for tickets go to http://www.burren.com/Backroom-Series.html). Their show is from 7:30 to 9. Hankus and Eden will certainly be working harder than any of us, but we’ll be there longer.

Look for the Israeli flag!

About the BIG Pub Tour:

A chill night at a local bar. Every month. Always a different neighborhood from the last. Jews from Israel and Boston (and other places too).
