As head of the Laws of War desk at the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Gadi Ezra advised policy-makers on humanitarian law and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. In addition to being the first outside counsel to serve as civic advisor to the Israeli Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gadi recently completed his term as the director of Israel’s National Public Diplomacy Unit, where he coordinated public diplomacy efforts among all official elements in the State of Israel on issues of national importance.

Gadi holds three law degrees from Tel Aviv University and NYU School of Law, where he was the first Israeli to deliver the convocation speech and where he’s currently pursuing a Ph.D. in law. He also has the distinction of being one of Forbes Magazine’s most influential leaders in Israel under the age of 30.

Gadi will share first-hand experience from Operation Cast Lead, in which his team was among the first ground units to enter the Gaza Strip, while examining the dilemmas and complexities of applying the laws of war to modern warfare.
