Did you know that many companies use computerized applicant tracking systems to screen resumes before a hiring manager sees them? This workshop explains why these systems exist and how to optimize your resume so it gets past those systems into human hands. You will practice identifying key words in job descriptions and learn common formatting features and content issues that can cause you to get screened out.

After completing this workshop, you will be able to:

  1. Identify keywords that you need to include in your resume.
  2. Recognize formatting features that will “confuse” applicant tracking systems.
  3. Modify your resume’s content and formatting to improve the likelihood that your resume will be reviewed by a human being.
