In “The Matchmaker”, written and directed by Avi Nesher, Arik’s coming-of-age story and the personalities he encounters along the way express the hopes and fears of a country awash in unsettling history. Discussion by Prof. Lew Shaw. Since 2008, Lew has been a visiting professor at the University of Haifa and spends several months a year living and working there.
