Join Kerem Shalom of Concord for a special celebration where we will recognize the recent publication of “Journeys of Transformation: Confronting the Legacies of Conflict, War, and Genocide” by Wilma Busse, Martina Emme, and Kerem Shalom Cantor Rosalie Gerut.

Keren Shalom’s program will include selected readings from the book, film clips, and moderated discussion, including comments by Rosalie, her co-authors, and Kerem Shalom’s Rabbi Darby Leigh.

Journeys of Transformation presents the stories of healing and acceptance of individuals whose lives or families have been impacted by the Shoah (Holocaust), either as victims or as members/bystanders of the Nazi regime. The book represents the work of the non-profit organization, One-by-One, which provides a process through facilitated dialogue to allow understanding, compassion, and a path forward for people with a legacy on both sides of conflict and genocide.

The impact of these dialogue groups has been life-affirming for many of the participants who have suffered from the aftermath of World War II and the Shoah, but also presents an important message and healing process for the world in conflict today. The work of One by One provides a glimpse of what the world can be: one in which people from opposing sides of conflict, war, and genocide come together to listen, understand, and help one another transform painful histories into hopeful futures.

Light refreshments will be offered. The program will be offered both in-person and online.
