Congregation B’nai Torah of Sudbury is pleased to announce that New York Times best-selling author William Martin will speak on “Lincoln and Liberty” with a book signing to follow.

Through a series of vivid slides, including rare holdings from the Library of Congress, Martin will trace the arc of Lincoln’s presidency from constitutional lawyer to moral leader.

Martin has written 11 novels, including “Back Bay,” “Cape Cod” and “The Lincoln Letter.” He has been awarded the New England Book Award and the Samuel Eliot Morison Award. In addition to writing novels, Martin is the author of a PBS documentary, book reviews, magazine articles and more.

The Providence Journal, reviewing “Bound for Gold,” calls him the “king of the historical thriller.”

Doris Kearns Goodwin wrote of “The Lincoln Letter”: “I am a huge William Martin fan, but this book is my absolute favorite.”
