Please join Kerem Shalom of Concord for an Erev Shabbat service—”Songs for Love, Peace and Justice” with Nancy Kaplan and George Peabody.

Shabbat is a time of love, joy, play and contemplation. In these extraordinary times of struggle, music also inspires us and calls us to action. Join us in singing songs for love and peace and justice. We will also explore alternative melodies for our liturgy.

The service will include music by Lennon/McCartney, James Taylor, Joni Mitchell, Karla Bonoff, Paul Simon, Louie Armstrong, John McCutcheon, Bob Franke, Carrie Newcomer, Joy Williams, George and Nancy, traditional Irish ballads and more. Prayer melodies and chants by Shefa Gold, Dan Nichols, Rabbi David Shneyer, Rick Recht, Sheldon Low, Norman Blake, King Solomon—plus original tunes by Nancy and George—will be shared.

After Kiddush and Motzi, please join us for sweet refreshments, challah and conversation at our Oneg Shabbat.

The service will take place both in-person and via Zoom.
