Join us to celebrate Shabbat and our new graduates. We will be at a special location (The Wild Child Chocolate Factory in Davis) with a special dinner (catered by the Hebrew College Co-Op) to follow, open to our entire community AND friends and family in town for graduation!

Join us at our home to welcome the beginning of Shabbat with prayerful music and communal singing. We will wander through the Psalms that lead us up to and through the entrance of the Sabbath Bride – Kabbalat Shabbat, with familiar and new melodies led by R’ Jackson and community musicians.

We will move through Kabbalat Shabbat with instruments starting at 6:30 p.m., take a moment to light candles and “bring in” Shabbat before the 18 minutes of candle-lighting (7:45 in Cambridge), and then a songful Maariv (evening prayer) a cappella. We will conclude using instruments after communal candle-lighting, in observance of Shabbat.

“What if I just want to sing?” Come! “What if I just want to listen?” Come! “What if ‘musical services’ are not usually my vibe?” Come! This will be different.

If you’d like to join us for dinner, please be sure to sign up; we are asking folks to help cover our cost of this awesome Shabbat with a small $10 dinner charge. If your friends and family are coming to town for graduation or commencement or ordination, they eat for free (email jackson.mercer@memglobal.org for the discount code).
